Respondents consistently prioritized security and data privacy, with cost-free usage also playing an important role. European studies emphasized acceptance as a universal means of payment, while U.S. surveys revealed low awareness of CBDCs and concerns about government surveillance. Overall, the findings highlight the four priorities and additionally the need for transparent communication and user-friendly designs to ensure the successful introduction of CBDCs.
